ANNUAL GOVERNANCE

Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) In accordance with the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, the Parish Council is required to prepare and publish its Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) each financial year.

The AGAR comprises:

  • The Annual Internal Audit Report
  • The Annual Governance Statement
  • The Accounting Statements
  • The External Auditor’s Report (where applicable)
  • The Notice of Public Rights

These documents provide information on the Council’s governance arrangements, financial management, internal controls and accounting records for the Parish Council financial years

Members of the public have a statutory right to inspect the Council’s accounts and supporting records during the designated period for the exercise of public rights. Details of this period are contained within the published Notice of Public Rights.
